Description

A Cartier Santos, reference WSSA0062, in ink on watercolor paper, no color anywhere. The screwed bezel and Roman numeral dial built entirely from line work, each exposed screw drawn individually instead of implied, the same visible hardware Cartier left on show back when hiding fasteners was still the norm. It's one of the first wristwatches anyone actually wore instead of carried, which puts the visible construction on display as a feature in its own right. Part of the Face Me series, where the timepiece gets the same attention as a portrait.
